What Is Referral & Assistance?

Local 148’s Referral & Assistance Program (RAP) is a network of Local 148 members organized and trained to support members and their families who face critical life issues. Such issues may include drug and alcohol dependency, physical and emotional abuse, mental health issues (such as depression, stress and suicide), elder care and child care. RAP volunteers also assist with financial problems, debt and gambling issues and marriage counseling resources.

All services are kept strictly confidential.

How to Access Counseling

AmerenUE has hired Magellan Behaviorial Care to provide professional counseling. You can reach them at 1-800-888-CARE (2273).

When making an appointment over the phone, make sure you get:

1. The name of the phone counselor you are speaking to.

2. The date and time of your call.

3. Your appointment made in a timely manner (if you need the appointment soon, let them know that).

4. The proper priority given to your situation (if it is an emergency, tell them so!).

If you have any difficulty getting access to counseling or if you need assistance accessing your insurance benefits, call the union hall or contact a RAP representative.
