The Retirees’ Organization of Local 148 invites any current member of Local 148 to attend its monthly meetings. A special invitation is extended to any member approaching retirement or giving retirement serious consideration. Please call any officer listed above for more details.
Monthly meetings are held at the union hall on the second Monday of each month, starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. Donuts and coffee are usually served, along with some power plant specialty for lunch. Special speakers and activities are always in the plans. Come out, meet old friends, and get involved. It’s worth the effort!

The Local 148 Joppa Retirees meet the third Wednesday of each month at the Ponderosa Restaurant, Junction I-24 and Route 45, Metropolis, Illinois, at 11:30 a.m. Our organization began in July 1992, and we now have over 50 active members. We keep our meetings short and informal. We eat lunch and discuss what’s happening among the retirees as well as what’s going on that might affect our pensions and health care. We are currently planning to get more involved in functions like charities. Any retiree in the Joppa area (or anyone approaching retirement) is welcome to attend our meetings and join our group. Just call one of the officers listed above.
